For those of you who do not have a strong command of the English language — at least not American English — in the U.S.A., the phrase “eating crow” refers to the act of a person being publicly humiliated and humbled when they are clearly proven wrong about something.

While I personally have never eaten a real crow, from what I have read, crow meat tastes rather nasty, just as a person feels rather bad, or nasty, when they are publicly humiliated, because they got something wrong.
