Bible Study Resources:
In the New Testament of the King James Version of the Holy Bible, the word "damnation" is usually translated from one of two Koine Greek words: "krisis" and "krima". These two words basically mean one of two things: a decree or judgment for some wrong having been done -- that is, a sentence of condemnation -- or eternal separation from God. That is no doubt why in the Book of Revelation, we find this verse:
"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For WITHOUT [meaning outside the Gates of the City] are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."
