August 6, 1945 -- a day in infamy when the crew of the Enola Gay dropped a 15 kiloton atomic bomb codenamed "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Not satisfied with the horrific death and destruction which resulted from that atomic blast, three days later, the U.S. government dropped a second atomic weapon -- the 21-kiloton "Fat Man" -- on the Japanese city of Nagasaki.
