Hello . . .

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bill Kochman. I am the founder, creator and webmaster of the Bill's Bible Basics website. If you are not familiar with Bill's Bible Basics, and would like to read a brief history of this online Christian outreach ministry, allow me to refer you to an article I wrote a number of years ago entitled "The Internet: Our Final Frontier; Your Last Chance?".

So what is this all about? Well, some time ago, the Lord gave me the idea of organizing small teams of people -- preferably two or more individuals per team -- who possess an interest in helping me to translate some of my work into other languages. Since this idea first occurred to me years ago, my central message -- entitled "Message to the World" -- has been made available in Afrikaans, English, French, German, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish; but many other languages still remain.

As you can imagine, I am excited by the slow but steady progress which has been made thus far, as it has enabled me to spread the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ even further than ever before. But as I said, a lot still remains to be done. Obviously, I cannot accomplish this project alone, because I am not fluent in any foreign languages, other than what I can still remember of Spanish when it used to be my second language many years ago. Therefore, I must rely upon the help of other God-fearing, Bible-believing Christians from other countries, who truly love Jesus, who want to obey Him by sharing His Word with the world, and who are sufficiently fluent in English, so that they can properly translate my work into their native tongue, whatever it may happen to be.

Might you possibly be one of such people?

If so, then please do prayerfully consider a position as a translator on one of my translation teams. In order to ensure the highest quality of translation work, the members of each translation team must be able to work together on a project in Christian love and humility, via Internet email. This will result in the most accurate translations possible, being as you will be able to check and verify each other's work. In short, each translation will be the result of the members of each team working closely together towards a common goal.

Allow me to make clear from the start that there will be no room for pride, vanity or competition, and there will be no pressure or deadlines. Each person and team will work at their own speed, and in their own time, as they each feel led of the Lord. Again, the primary motivation here should be to do this as unto the Lord, for His Glory, and not for self glory or credit, simply because we love Him, and want to obey Him. As the Apostle Paul wrote:

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."
2 Corinthians 4:5, KJV

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31, KJV

As I explain in the aforementioned article, I have been writing Bible-based articles for the Lord since the early 1990's. I do this on my own time, using what little money I have, and I don't charge money to read my work. As I point out in a few of my articles, I firmly believe in freely sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter what the cost may be to me personally. As Jesus taught in the Gospel of Matthew:

". . . freely ye have received, freely give."
Matthew 10:8b, KJV

It is for this reason, that unlike many Christian websites and other outreach ministries, I do not sell books, tapes, magazines, CD's, videos, etc., on my website. I just trust the Lord to supply what I need on a daily basis . . . and He does. Again, as it is written:

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33, KJV

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19, KJV

I want the visitors to my website to concentrate solely on the Word of God, and the message that I am sharing with them, and not be bothered with offers for books, CD's, magazines, videos, etc. I am not about money; I am about the Word, and feeding God's sheep.

While I have written quite a volume of material during the past twenty-three years, my goal with this translation project is to concentrate on having some of my basic Salvation and Discipleship articles translated into other languages. As I noted earlier, the very first article to be translated is an in-depth, yet easy-to-understand, Scripture-filled Salvation message entitled "Message to the World", which has already been read and/or downloaded in English, and other languages, over 1,000,000 times since 1999.

If you would like to read this article -- and I hope that you will -- you can access it at the following link:

Message to the World

Once you have read "Message to the World", I am hoping that you will be so inspired by it, that you will be more than happy to help translate it into one or more languages. Allow me to remind you again that "Message to the World" has already been made available in the following languages:

Afrikaans
English
French
German
Korean
Portuguese
Spanish

While I am open to how the Lord leads, some of the languages into which I would like to see "Message to the World" translated next are the following:

Japanese
Russian
Italian
Chinese
Arabic

So, if you are a Christian, and are fluent in one of the above languages, as well as in English, please carefully consider assisting me, and contact me by clicking on the contact link that is located near the bottom of this page.

To reiterate, once "Message to the World" has been translated into a substantial number of other languages, my vision with the BBB translation project is to then continue by having some of my other basic Salvation and Discipleship articles translated as well, as the Lord leads.

As you can imagine, this translation project is a major challenge for me, and I need all the help that I can get from people who are God-fearing, Bible-believing Christians, who know how to follow instructions closely, who can work in Christian love and unity with one other person or more, who are fluent in a foreign language, and who are capable of doing quality work.

Allow me to mention here that translating from one language to another is by no means an easy task. It is not for the faint-hearted. It is not for those people who do not know how to stick to a project and persevere until its completion. I know, because I personally played a major role in the English to Spanish translation of "Message to the World".

I will be honest and tell you that there have been some people who have enthusiastically offered their services to me, only to eventually give up, when they realized that translation work can be quite hard, challenging, and time-consuming. So, if you have any doubts about your ability to complete a translation task, then please do us both a favor, and don't even offer your translation help to me. As Jesus taught, it is better not to have begun a project, than to have begun it, and then not be able to finish it. You need to count the cost before you begin. Jesus taught the following:

"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace."
Luke 14:28-32, KJV

So again, if you feel that you have the skill, the patience, the perseverance, the faith and the love to participate in this Christian translation project, please contact me as soon as possible. Allow me to remind you again, that you must be capable of high quality translation work, which will closely adhere to my original English as much as possible. This means that you must be as fluent in English, as you are in your native language. You must also know how to find Bible verses in a Bible of your own language.

Please also understand that if you decide to do this, there is absolutely no pay -- money -- involved. You must be willing to offer your translation services to me free-of-charge, as unto the Lord, simply because you love the Lord, and want to help spread the Word of God to people around the world who speak your same language.

As I said, I have been conducting this online ministry for twenty-three years now, but I don't charge money to read my work. Everyone has free, full access to my writings. If your interest is only in filthy lucre -- that is, financial gain -- then please do not contact me, as your work would not be done in the true Spirit of Christ. If you want to understand why I feel so strongly about this point, please take the time to read the article entitled "Money-Making Bible Hucksters and Mammon".

Allow me to also mention, that should you agree to assist me in this translation work, it must be clearly understood that the copyright and ownership of all materials, in English, as well as in any translated languages, will soley remain with Bill's Bible Basics, and myself, as the original author of the English articles. While I honestly don't like to become involved in the legalities of writing, particularly when it involves God's Work, for my own protection, and that of this online ministry, I feel obligated to make this point clear with you from the start.

I have heard horror stories where a particular author has written something; and then someone else has come along, and perhaps made a few minor changes to it; and then claimed it as their own work; and even gone as far as to legally steal it from the original author; so that the original author no longer has any rights to his own work. I have worked long and hard at this ministry, and I am not about to see my work stolen from me. This is not a matter of pride or ego on my part; because as far as I am concerned, the only one who deserves credit when we accomplish anything good for the Lord, is God Himself. Let me remind you again that we are all unprofitable servants; and as the Apostle Paul wrote:

"But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."
2 Corinthians 10:17, KJV

While all copyright and ownership will remain with Bill's Bible Basics, you do have the option -- should you desire it -- to have your name included as the translator of the article from the original English, to your language. Most people decline this offer, out of Christian humility, I assume, but it is available to you, if you want it.

Having now shared with you the previous information, I ask that you please take this issue to the Lord in prayer, and then contact me as you feel led, by clicking on the contact link that is located near the bottom of this page.

Allow me to leave you with a few final verses for your thoughtful consideration:

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."
1 Corinthians 4:2, KJV

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."
John 4:35, KJV

Do you want to help with the harvest? Thank-you so much for reading this.

Your fellowservant,
Bill Kochman
