“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.”
1 Timothy 5:20, KJV

“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.”
Matthew 18:15-17, KJV

“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”

REBUKE IS A FORM OF LOVE — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

“Open rebuke is better than secret love.”
Proverbs 27:5, KJV

“My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.”
Proverbs 3:11-12, KJV

“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may
fear.”
1 Timothy 5:20, KJV

“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;”
Hebrews 12:5-12, KJV

“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
James 5:19-20, KJV

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”
Revelation 3:19, KJV

RACISM AND PREJUDICE — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses

Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more.

There has been so much talk of systemic racism, Black Lives Matter, Antifa and related topics in recent months. Some people are screaming very loudly, and very angrily, and are constantIy striving to keep these issues in front of our faces. So let me say the following. I believe that to some degree, racism and class division exist in many — perhaps most — parts of the world. However, insofar as the USA is concerned, being an idealist, I would like to believe that they occur to a lot less degree than that which is portrayed in the mainstream media, and by certain politicians. I would like to believe that the goodness and kindness in people’s hearts is stronger than any root of racism and prejudice. The truth is that the discussion of race and ethnicity is constantly used by governments, radicals, extremists and others to stir up trouble, to divide and weaken people, and to promote and advance some particular agenda. I strongly believe that as Bible-believing Christians, we need to learn to see beyond the flesh. We need to see people as God sees them, based on our knowledge of His Word. My Christian perspective is based on verses such as the following:

“There is‭‭ neither‭ Jew‭ nor‭ Greek‭, there is‭‭ neither‭ bond‭ nor‭ free‭, there is‭‭ neither‭ male‭ nor‭ female‭: for‭ ye‭ are‭‭ all‭ one‭ in‭ Christ‭ Jesus‭.”
Galatians 3:28, KJV

“And‭ hath made‭‭ of‭ ‭ONE BLOOD‭‭ all‭ nations‭ of men‭ for to dwell‭‭ on‭ all‭ the face‭ of the earth‭, and hath determined‭‭ the times‭ before appointed‭‭, and‭ the bounds‭ of their‭ habitation‭;‭”
Acts 17:26, KJV

“It is‭‭ the spirit‭ that quickeneth‭‭; THE FLESH PROFITETH NOTHING‭: the words‭ that‭ I‭ speak‭‭ unto you‭, ‭they‭ are‭‭ spirit‭, and‭ ‭they‭ are‭‭ life‭.”
John 6:63, KJV

“But the LORD‭ said‭‭ unto Samuel‭, Look‭‭ not on his countenance‭, or on the height‭ of his stature‭; because I have refused‭‭ him: for ‭the LORD seeth‭ not as man‭ seeth‭‭; for man‭ ‭looketh‭‭‭ ‭on‭ ‭the‭ outward appearance‭, but the LORD‭ ‭looketh‭‭‭ ‭on‭ ‭the‭ heart‭.‭”
1 Samuel 16:7, KJV

QUEEN OF HEAVEN — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses

Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more.

As I point out in the series “Our Pagan World: The Easter Myth Exposed!”, in the Scriptures, the phrase “queen of heaven” is a reference to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, who was the goddess of love, war, fertility and sexuality. This deity was known by a variety of names amongst the cultures of the Middle East, southern Europe and northern Africa; including Astarte, Ashtoreth, Isis, Aphrodite and Venus, and possibly a few others. King Solomon also fell into worshipping this false goddess.

“Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?‭ The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead ‭their‭ dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.”
Jeremiah 7:17-18, KJV

“As for‭ the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.‭ But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for ‭then‭ had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.‭ But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all ‭things‭, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.‭ And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?”
Jeremiah 44:16-19, KJV

“Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that ‭are‭ in the land of Egypt:‭ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.‭ Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.‭ ‭‭Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that ‭are‭ in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.‭”
Jeremiah 44:24-27, KJV

“And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, ‭Is‭ not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, ‭even‭ he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.”
Exodus 4:14-16, KJV

“And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.”
Numbers 23:16, KJV

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
Deuteronomy 18:18, KJV

“And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou ‭art‭ my people.”
Isaiah 51:16, KJV

“Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.”
Jeremiah 1:9, KJV

“But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;‭ And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.‭ ‭‭But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.‭ ‭‭For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.”
Matthew 10:17-20, KJV

“But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations. But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.”
Mark 13:9-11, KJV

“But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
Luke 21:12-15, KJV

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake ‭as they were‭ moved by the Holy Ghost.”
2 Peter 1:20-21, KJV

PURPOSE OF UNLEAVENED BREAD — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses

Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more.

The Bible tells us that unleavened bread was eaten with bitter herbs, as a reminder to the Israelites of the bitter years they spent in bondage to the Egyptians. In describing this bread, and why it was eaten, the KJV Bible informs us of the following:

“And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.”
Exodus 1:14, KJV

“Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.”
Deuteronomy 16:3, KJV

“And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.”
Exodus 12:8, KJV

“The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.”
Numbers 9:11, KJV

“And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.”
Exodus 29:2, KJV

According to the Brown, Driver, Briggs, Gesenius Hebrew Aramaic English Lexicon, the term “unleavend bread” is derived from the word “matstsah” — pronounced mats-tsaw’ — which it defines as “bread or cake without leaven”. It also states that “matstsah” is in turn derived from “matsats” — pronounced maw-tsats’ — which means “to drain out or suck”. In referring to this second Hebrew word, the lexicon states “in the sense of greedily devouring for sweetness”.

It is quite possible then, that unleavened bread, while it may have been heavy and flat, may also have been sweet to the taste.

To add support for this idea, consider the following verse from the Book of Ezekiel; taking into account that the word “meat”, is also translated as “bread”:

“My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.”
Ezekiel 16:19, KJV

And of course, “Every day with Jesus — the true Bread of Life who was born in Bethlehem, or “house of bread” — is sweeter than the day before!”.

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”
Proverbs 3:7, KJV

“Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
Isaiah 5:21, KJV

“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness . . . Therefore let no man glory in men”
1 Corinthians 3:18-19, 21a, KJV

“And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”
1 Corinthians 4:6-7, KJV

“. . . we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.”
1 Corinthians 8:1b-2, KJV

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing . . . Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
1 Corinthians 13:2, 8, KJV

“Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,”
Colossians 2:18, KJV

“From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.”
1 Timothy 1:6-7, KJV

“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”
1 Timothy 6:3-5, KJV

“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
Hebrews 5:12-14, KJV

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Proverbs 16:18, KJV

“For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Luke 14:11, KJV

“Submit yourselves therefore to God . . . Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
James 4:7a, 10, KJV

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”

But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. “And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:57-62, KJV

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Luke 14:26-35, KJV

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.”
Matthew 4:19-20, KJV

“And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.”
Matthew 8:19-22, KJV

“And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”
Matthew 10:36-38, KJV

“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”
Matthew 19:29, KJV

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21, KJV

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:24-34, KJV

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19, KJV

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
Psalm 37:4, KJV

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Isaiah 26:3, KJV

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6, KJV
