Political entities are notorious for keeping a precise record of everything their opponents have stated over the years. Then, when election season rolls around, out come the big guns, and accusations of hypocrisy, double-standards, etc., begin to fly, sometimes to the serious detriment of one opponent or another.
However, we all need to remember that we are all constantly learning and growing, and not everything is written in stone; particularly our thoughts, opinions and positions. They often change over time as we acquire new information, mature and grow.
This equally applies to politicians. They too are perfectly within their right to change course if need be. It really isn’t deception unless they are saying and promoting one thing in public, while actually believing something entirely different in private.
So, please slow down, and give people a break. Wouldn’t you want them to do the same for you if you changed your mind about something?
“For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:” Ephesians 5:29, KJV
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, KJV
“From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:1-3, KJV
