Jesus is the Light of Israel, the Light of the World, and the Flame, as we see by the following verses:
“Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:”
Psalm 104:2, KJV
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
Isaiah 9:2, KJV
“And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;”
Isaiah 10:17, KJV
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. The flame is also symbolic of the presence of God’s Spirit. Furthermore, some of the ministering spirits of God are compared to flames. Consider these verses:
“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire . . . Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
