Following are several images which will help you to better visualize some of the topics and concepts which are discussed in this series. I will leave it to you to determine how much of this is actually true, based on your own personal research.
This drawing shows the alleged real location of the Temple Mount just to the south, and outside of Mount Moriah and the walls of Fortress Antonia. As I explain in part seven of this series, one belief holds that Fort Antonia was connected to the Temple Mount, just to the south of it, by a double colonnade bridge on the western side, as you can see in this image. Please click or tap on this image to see a much larger version of the same. It is not advisable to do this on a cellphone, but a desktop or laptop computer should be fine.
This drawing is supposedly based on a map made by Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus. As you can see, unlike the above drawing, this map places the temple right on Mount Moriah, and NOT to the south of it. Please click or tap on this image to see a much larger version of the same. It is not advisable to do this on a cellphone, but a desktop or laptop computer should be fine.
This drawing shows the alleged real location of the Temple Mount, Solomon's palace and the City of David on a crescent-shaped ridge comprised of Mount Ophel and Mount Zion, situated just to the south, and outside of Mount Moriah and Fortress Antonia. I believe that we can see part of this ridge in the first drawing above. Please note that there is no larger version of the image below.
