In the world of men, it is a common practice to immortalize the words of any individual who is deemed by his peers to have made some important contribution to society. Whether he is a dedicated scientist, wise philosopher, spiritual leader, astute politician, military hero, or a social reformer, his words will be found in a history book, or on a plaque, or at the base of a statue dedicated to his honor, or perhaps on a monument, or maybe in some other place where men will praise his wisdom, or his discovery, or whatever his contribution might have been, for years to come.

Sadly, while much of humanity is quick to elevate and praise the words of mere mortal men, many people today have totally forgotten and ignore the wonderful truths which are found in the most famous, the most endearing, and the most widely-read book of all ages, bar none. That, of course, is none other than the Holy Bible. It may interest you to know that God's Word is so important to Him, that in the Book of Psalms, King David informs us that the Lord has magnified His Word above His very name. Furthermore, the Prophet Moses assures us that God is a man who always keeps His Word. He never lies. In his second Epistle, the Apostle Peter also is so confident of the absolute reliability of God's Word, that he refers to it as the "sure word of prophecy". Consider the following group of verses:

"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."
> Psalm 138:2, KJV

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
> Numbers 23:19, KJV

"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"
> 2 Peter 1:19, KJV

While sinful and worldly men like to boast about the great personages who have influenced the course of world events over the millennia, at the same time, they haughtily ignore the Holy Bible which tells the story of one Man who was -- and still remains -- the greatest Prophet, Shepherd and King who has ever lived. Naturally, I am speaking of none other than Jesus Christ, who is the very Son of God. This Jesus is unique, and stands head and shoulders above every other man who has ever lived; for He alone did what no other man could ever do. He willingly and lovingly sacrificed His very life, so that we might obtain forgiveness of sins and Redemption, -- and thus be eligible to inherit Eternal Life -- by means of our faith in His Name, and in His Sacrifice of Atonement for our sins.

Once an individual does accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and determines to live a life which is more pleasing to the Lord, one of the Devil's favorite tactics is to begin condemning him for wrong things that he has done; and to try to convince him that God does not really love him, and that he is not really saved. Oh how that wicked serpent begins to cast his fiery darts of doubt and condemnation at us. As the Apostle Paul writes in his Epistle to the Ephesians, if we expect to protect ourselves from such spiritual attacks that originate with the enemy of our soul, it is imperative that we don the Armor of the Spirit, as we see by the following set of verses:

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"
> Ephesians 6:13-17, KJV

As the Apostle Paul writes in the previous verses, one of the primary ways in which we can deflect Satan's lies, is simply by utilizing the Sword of the Spirit, which is God's Word. In the Epistle to the Hebrews, we are also reminded of the awesome power that is available to us by means of the Word of God, as we see by this well-known verse:

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
> Hebrews 4:12, KJV

It should be clear to you then that the only sure-fire way in which we can protect ourselves from Satan's fiery darts of doubts and lies, is by reading, studying, and in fact even memorizing the Word of God; particularly verses which concern the topic of Salvation. King David and the Apostle Paul advise us to do this very thing, as we can see by the following two verses:

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."
> Psalm 119:11, KJV

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
> 2 Timothy 2:15, KJV

Psalm 119 is a wonderful Psalm. It may interest you to know that not only is it the longest Psalm in the Book of Psalms, but with one hundred and seventy-six verses, it is also the longest chapter in the entire Bible. If you take the time to read it, you will quickly discover how much King David loved God's Word. It is indeed a very inspiring Psalm.

As many of you will know, there is an old proverb which says "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". While the proverb is obviously far from being accurate and true, in contrast, we Christians can tweak it a bit and say "A verse a day keeps the doubts away"; because faith is the opposite of doubts. As the Apostle Paul writes in his Epistle to the Church at Rome, faith is born through a diligent study of God's Word, as we can determine by the following verse:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
> Romans 10:17, KJV

Having said that, I am happy to inform you that I've compiled the following collection of some of my favorite verses which concern the topic of Salvation. It is my hope that they will not only strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ, and give you the assurance that you need to know that you are truly saved, but that they will also assist you in bringing others to know the one true Shepherd of God's Kingdom as well. Obviously, the Scriptures below are not all of the verses which concern the different aspects of sin, Forgiveness, Redemption and Salvation in the Bible.

If you would like to more deeply explore this subject, as well as delve into many other subjects, I encourage you to visit the "KJV Bible Verse Lists" section of the Bill's Bible Basics website. Following then is a group of some of my favorite Bible verses regarding the topics of sin and Salvation. I hope you enjoy reading, studying and even memorizing them.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
> Romans 3:10, 23, KJV

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
> Isaiah 1:18, KJV

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
> Romans 6:23, KJV

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
> Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"
> Titus 3:5, KJV

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
> 2 Peter 3:9, KJV

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
> Ephesians 4:32, KJV

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
> John 1:12, KJV

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
> John 3:16-19, KJV

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."
> John 6:37, KJV

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
> John 10:28, KJV

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."
> John 12:32, KJV

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
> John 14:6, KJV

"As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him."
> John 17:2, KJV

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
> Acts 4:12, KJV

"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
> Acts 16:31, KJV

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
> Romans 5:8, KJV

"Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."
> Romans 8:34, KJV

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
> Romans 10:9-10, KJV

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"
> Titus 1:2, KJV

"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."
> Hebrews 2:10, KJV

"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession."
> Hebrews 4:14, KJV

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"
> Hebrews 5:9, KJV

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
> Hebrews 12:2, KJV

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
> 1 John 1:7, KJV

"And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life."
> 1 John 2:25, KJV

"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."
> 1 John 3:16, KJV

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son . . . These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
> 1 John 5:11, 13, KJV

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,"
> Revelation 1:5, KJV

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
> Revelation 3:20, KJV

As the previous verses clearly demonstrate, Jesus Christ is our High Priest and Intercessor with God the Father. In the following verses we are also informed that Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man. He is in fact the Mediator of the New Testament -- or the New Covenant -- which God the Father has established with humanity, by way of the loving Sacrifice of His own dear Son:

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
> 1 Timothy 2:5-6, KJV

"But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises."
> Hebrews 8:6, KJV

"And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
> Hebrews 9:15, KJV

"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
> Hebrews 12:24, KJV

Jesus alone merits the title of Mediator because He shed His innocent Blood on the Cross for our sins, like no one else before or after Him. He alone atoned for us. Therefore, He is the Author of Eternal Life, and the only Captain of our Salvation. While the following list may not be complete, it demonstrates some of the many titles which are attributed to Jesus throughout the New Testament:

If you are interested in learning more about these titles, let me again encourage you to visit the "KJV Bible Verse Lists" section of the Bill's Bible Basics website. As we have seen, because of what He did for us, Jesus is in fact very unique. Many other so-called spiritual leaders and wise philosophers have come and gone in the world. They preached their dry wisdom and vain philosophies of men; but none of them preached the Kingdom of God, or ever made the Ultimate Sacrifice on the Cross like Jesus Christ. As such, unless these self-styled gurus, holy men and philosophers point us to Jesus Christ, they cannot possibly claim to possess the way to Eternal Life. They can talk all about compassion, peace, wisdom and protecting the Earth, but it amounts to empty, meaningless drivel without Christ at its center.

Jesus was obviously very aware of the gurus, teachers, false prophets and philosophers who had preceded Him, as well as those who would come after Him. Thus, in the Gospels we find verses such as the following:

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many . . . Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
> Matthew 24:11, 23-24, KJV

"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect."
> Mark 13:22, KJV

"All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."
> John 10:8-9, KJV

In the previous verses, Jesus very clearly informs us that anyone who came before Him, or who would arrive after Him, claiming to be the Christ or the Messiah, was -- or will be -- both a liar and a deceiver. The Apostles Peter, John and Paul reiterate Jesus' warning when they write the following in their various Epistles:

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
> 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, KJV

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
> Colossians 2:8, KJV

"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."
> 2 Timothy 3:13, KJV

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"
> 2 Timothy 4:3, KJV

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."
> 2 Peter 2:1, KJV

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
> 1 John 4:1, KJV

As many of you will already know, in recent decades we have witnessed quite a few of these misguided deceivers in our midst who have made the news. I am reminded of the so-called Lord Maitreya who is very popular amongst some New Agers; the Reverend Sung Myung Moon of the Unification Church, which is known to many people as the Moonies; and the deceased leader of the Heaven's Gate UFO cult, Marshall Applewhite . All of these charlatans foolishly claim -- or claimed -- to be a modern manifestation of the Messiah. Even now in 2022, there are still deceivers who falsely claim to be a reincarnation of Jesus Christ, such as the blasphemer Alan John Miller of the Divine Truth movement in Queensland, Australia.

I am likewise reminded of the Jim Jones and Peoples Temple tragedy which occurred in 1978 when 909 people voluntarily committed mass suicide, or were forcibly injected with a cyanide-laced concoction. Many of you will also be familiar with the April 1993 massacre of David Koresh and the Branch Davidians at their Mount Carmel compound outside of Waco, Texas. According to news reports and online information, in all, four ATF agents were killed, and sixteen were wounded. During the first ATF raid on February 28, 1993, six Branch Davidians lost their lives. On April 19th of that same year, during the final raid, seventy-six more Branch Davidians were killed due to various causes. Then there was The Solar Temple mass suicides and murders which occurred in Canada, France and Switzerland in 1994 and 1995. Dozens of people died during those incidents as well.

Obviously, there are many more such deceivers. I have named just a few of the more notorious ones. I have not mentioned the many false prophets and self-named "apostles" who have also infiltrated the Lord's very own Church. What a shame, and what an embarrassment these snakes are to our faith! As the Apostle Paul wrote above, some of these deceivers have transformed themselves into the apostles of Christ, and are in our midst at this very moment doing their dirty work!

Please don't be deceived by these liars, imitators and false miracle workers! If someone approaches you and attempts to convince you that they have found the Messiah, whatever you do, don't you dare believe them for a single minute! In fact, if someone comes to you and promotes some preacher, apostle or alleged prophet, more than they talk about Jesus Christ, I also urge you to beware. Be extremely cautious, because said person may be deceived, and they may be guilty of the sin of man worship and personality cult worship. As the Apostle John wrote above, test all things and prove all things -- try the spirits -- "because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

It is quite possible that what we have seen thus far in the form of deceivers, false prophets and false christs, may be nothing compared to what may possibly occur in the future. If the level of deception in the world is already as strong as it currently is, to where people are even believing in charlatans such as Alan John Miller, what will happen should Satan decide to pull out all the plugs, and his messengers of darkness really begin to perform their so-called "miracles", such as we have never seen before? As you may know, Jesus and the Apostles John and Paul all warned of these Satan-inspired emissaries who would deceive much of the world with their signs and lying wonders, as we see by the following verses:

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
> Matthew 24:24, KJV

"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect."
> Mark 13:22, KJV

"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,"
> 2 Thessalonians 2:9, KJV

"And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."
> Revelation 13:13-14, KJV

"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty."
> Revelation 16:13-14, KJV

"And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."
> Revelation 19:20, KJV
