Tell me; do you really know who you are as a born-again Child of God? Do you really have the vision for what your purpose is in this life? Do you fully understand where you will be going once you have completed your mission here? Whether you do or don't, I hope that the following résumé of the Spirit-filled Christian will encourage and inspire your heart, renew your faith, and motivate you to do more for the Lord on a daily basis. I encourage you to print out this article and place it somewhere where it will be a constant reminder to you of our Heavenly Vision. Any time you are feeling a bit down and discouraged, when the problems and weights of this world are heavy upon your shoulders, just pick it up and read it over. It isn't very long. Remember; as Jesus said:
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30, KJV
After reading the following, I am sure that you will feel absolutely refreshed; for you will have been temporarily lifted up out of this world, and taken a spiritual bath in the waters of His wonderful Word. For as we are told in the Holy Scriptures:
"BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word."
Psalm 119:9, KJV
"Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."
John 15:3, KJV
Allow me to encourage you to edit the following résumé of the Spirit-filled Christian for your personal needs. You may even wish to personalize it and give a copy to different members of your family who are also Christians, or to other Christian friends. While we may not always agree on every single iota of doctrine, one thing we do all have in common, is that we share the same Heavenly Vision. May the following Scriptures be a tremendous blessing in your life:

Philippians 3:20, KJV
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city."

Colossians 1:15, KJV
"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life."
2 Corinthians 5:1-4, KJV
"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."
Philippians 3:21, KJV
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
1 John 3:2, KJV
"There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
1 Corinthians 15:40-52, KJV
And that, brethren, is our purpose in life, as well as our Heavenly Vision and goal. Isn't that wonderful? Isn't that absolutely inspiring? Anything less than this is a cheap imitation of Satan, so don't you be tricked by it. Don't you become trapped by the temporal things that this world has to offer. For as the Apostle John wrote, those things are not of God; they are of the world. And as the Apostle Paul also wrote, we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we will carry nothing out of it; unless of course we have laid up our treasures in Heaven. Consider these truths:
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
1 John 2:15-16, KJV
"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."
1 Timothy 6:7-12, KJV
So again, as the Apostle Paul told King Agrippa in the Book of Acts, our Heavenly Vision is to win as many as we can to Christ, that they too may partake of the glories soon to be revealed from Heaven. Consider these verses:
"But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:"
Acts 26:16-19, KJV
I am shooting for the stars! How about you? Let the foolish children of the world build their silly castles in the sand. When the flood of God's chastisements begins to fall on this wicked old world, they will all be washed away, just like the rising tide on the seashore. Jesus said so Himself, as is evident by these two verses:
"And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."
Matthew 7:26-27, KJV
But as for us, in God's perfect time, we will be moving on to something much better; and we will be taking many people with us, if we are faithful to do the task that He has given us to do. All you have to do is to keep your eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith, and the Rock of our Salvation, as we see by the following verses:
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2, KJV
"And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."
1 Corinthians 10:4, KJV
"The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes."
Psalm 118:22-23, KJV
"Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
Matthew 21:42, KJV
"And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
Mark 12:10-11, KJV
"This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner."
Acts 4:11, KJV
"To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed [that is disapproved, rejected, repudiated] indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed."
1 Peter 2:4-8, KJV
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
Matthew 7:24-25, KJV
As the Apostle Paul wrote, just keep running the race with patience that is set before you, and don't let Satan trick you into trying to take a detour, because you are not to be ignorant of his devices:
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"
Hebrews 12:1, KJV
"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain."
1 Corinthians 9:24, KJV
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."
2 Corinthians 2:11, KJV
There is only one way to run the race, and that is with the help of Jesus Christ; because He is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. He is the only Door that leads into God's sheepfold. Look neither to the left, nor to the right, but let your eyes look right on Jesus! Here again are some verses for your consideration:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6, KJV
"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."
John 10:7-9, KJV
"Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil."
Proverbs 4:25-27, KJV
Just keep your eyes on Jesus Christ who is up there in front of you. He has got His arms outstretched with a Crown of Life ready to place upon your head; but you've got to finish the race first if you expect to receive it. Crowns are only for winners, and not for those who fall by the wayside in a moment of temptation, weakness or despair. Please don't disappoint Him. God's Word says the following:
"And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible."
1 Corinthians 9:25, KJV
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
James 1:12, KJV
". . . be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."
Revelation 2:10, KJV
