Google Sky and Alleged SPT Nibiru Image

So exactly how did Scott weave together his personal tapestry of delusion? Thanks to the popular Google Earth program, it wasn't too difficult. Similar to a number of other people who have used the very same procedure before him, using the "Sky" portion of the Google Earth app, in the video, Scott enters the alleged sky coordinates for the planet Nibiru, which were obtained from an image which he claims was taken by the South Pole Telescope. Below you can see a copy of the image, which I acquired online. You can clearly see the coordinates -- 5h 53m 27s, -6 10' 58 -- in the lower lefthand corner:



Scott claims -- based on information which he has obtained from others -- that the large red blob that we see in this image is Nibiru. He also vocally theorizes in his video that the white orbs may possibly be some of Nibiru's moons. Not willing to accept Scott's claims at face value, I undertook my own online research. Allow me to share some of my findings with you. I think once you have read everything that I have discovered, you will become convinced that the Google Sky and Nibiru craze is simply a stupid, poorly-executed rumor, which has been perpetuated and propagated by gullible, naive people who didn't take the time to properly research their sources.

South Pole Telescope and DSS Consortium

While it is not visible in this particular image, in other images that I have seen online in certain videos, there is a "Image © 2007 DSS Consortium" string located on the bottom of the plate. At first glance, this appears to confirm the claim that the image was taken in 2007 sometime after the South Pole Telescope first went into operation. Concerning the telescope itself, I discovered that it is a ten-meter, wide-field, microwave/millimeter-wave Gregorian telescope that is located high above sea level at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. But the question which we need to ask ourselves is whether or not the alleged image of Nibiru really originated at the SPT.

While I cannot conclusively prove it one way or the other, I do have some serious doubts about the SPT claim, and I will tell you why. The "DSS" in the name stands for Digital Sky Survey. From the information that I was able to find on the Google Earth website, as well as on a few other sites, the DSS Consortium appears to be an astronomy-based collective which consists of The Space Telescope Science Institute, the California Institute of Technology, the Royal Observatory, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the Australian Astronomical Observatory. The telescopes which are used by these four institutions are located in California and New South Wales, Australia.

Now here is the catch: I was unable to find any information which even mentioned the South Pole Telescope in conjunction with the DSS Consortium. Furthermore, according to Google's own website, the images that are included in their Digitized Sky Survey are based on photographic data that was obtained using the Oschin Schmidt Telescope that's located on Palomar Mountain in California, and the UK Schmidt Telescope that is in New South Wales, Australia. While I suppose that one of the aforementioned institutions may have possibly been given access to the South Pole Telescope at some time, I honestly don't see why that would be necessary, being as they already have quite a few telescopes at their disposal.

Doubts Regarding South Pole Telescope Image

As I stated a moment ago, the Google Earth website states that all of the images that are included in their Digitized Sky Survey, are based on photographic data that was obtained using the Oschin Schmidt Telescope that's located on Palomar Mountain in California, and the UK Schmidt Telescope that is in New South Wales, Australia. Following is an excerpt from the Google Earth website:

"The Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) was produced at the Space Telescope Science Institute under U.S . Government grant NAG W-2166. The images of these surveys are based on photographic data obtained using the Oschin Schmidt Telescope on Palomar Mountain and the UK Schmidt Telescope. The plates were processed into the present digital form with the permission of these institutions.

Despite what Google itself states concerning the origin of the many images that are included in Google Sky, it seems that some people are so deluded, that they will continue to promote their own erroneous beliefs no matter what. It should not come as a surprise to us then that people such as Scott McAllister -- and others -- continue to say in their videos that the alleged image of Nibiru was taken by the South Pole Telescope. That they say this really makes me wonder how much in-depth research they conducted before making their videos.

To reiterate, in all of the videos that I have watched, and in all of the online comments that I have read where this Nibiru image is mentioned, the very same claim is made; yet no one offers any proof whatsoever that the image was really made using the South Pole Telescope. In short, they expect us to believe them, just because they say so. I am sorry, but it is my opinion that placing such blind faith in the words of someone who we do not even know personally is a very foolish practice.

V. M. Rabolu: "Hercolubus or Red Planet"

As you can see, in the alleged image of Nibiru, the name "Hercolubus" is printed next to the red blob; and next to that is the name "Nibiru" in parentheses. I suspect that many people who are not familiar with this issue, and who are probably not astronomy buffs, will automatically assume that Hercolubus is the designated scientific name for the object in question. Let me make it clear to you that this is most certainly not the case. In fact, neither Nibiru or Hercolubus have anything to do with real astronomy. At this point in our discussion, we are going to examine the recent history of the name Hercolubus.

In 1999, now-deceased Columbian New Age author V. M. Rabolu published a book entitled "Hercolubus or Red Planet". In it, he promoted the idea that Barnard's Star is really a planet, which was known to the ancients as Hercolubus. According to Rabolu, Hercolubus was responsible for the destruction of the mythical continent of Atlantis. Furthermore, Rabolu was likewise convinced that Hercolubus will approach the Earth again at some point in the future.

Samael Aun Weor: "The End of the Kali Yuga"

However, V. M. Rabolu -- whose real name was Joaquin Enrique Amortegui Valbuena -- was not the first person to propose the existence of a planet called Hercolubus. In fact, it is very evident that he borrowed his ideas from fellow Columbian New Age author -- and founder of the Universal Christian Gnostic Movement -- Samael Aun Weor, who in the 1970's proposed that Hercolubus was part of a distant solar system which revolves around Barnard's Star. In a lecture he delivered in 1976 in Guadalajara, Mexico, called "The End of the Kali Yuga", Weor -- whose real name is Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez -- talks about how the Earth will experience a polar shift at the end of the Age of Aquarius. According to Weor, this polar shift will result in the submergence of our current continents, and obviously, the destruction of most of mankind.

Sinking of Mu / Lemuria and Atlantis

However, in his lecture, Weor also points out that this cycle of destruction will be accelerated due to the approach of the planet Hercolubus. Following is an extract from his lecture, translated into English, which I discovered on the Gnostic Teachings website:

Eventually, the poles will convert themselves into the equator, and the equator into the poles. This will occur when our solar system concludes its defined voyage around the zodiacal belt.

Therefore, when the solar system arrives to the exact degree of original departure, the continents of the planet Earth will submerge themselves into the bottom of the ocean.

An unusual event is going to accelerate this process of swift change to the axis of the planet Earth. I am referring to the planet Hercolubus. This planet is six times bigger than the planet Jupiter. The planet Hercolubus belongs to the distant solar system of Tylo. The solar system of Tylo is rapidly approaching our solar system, and Hercolubus is rapidly approaching Earth.

Modern astronomers have before their sight the planet Hercolubus, or, as it is known by modern science, the Barnard star.

This planet is a powerful giant that will pass through our solar system at an angle. When this happens, the revolution of the axis of the planet Earth will accelerate violently. Then the final catastrophe will occur.

Some scientists believe that they will be able to push this monstrous planet away with nuclear explosions, but this will be useless. It will be impossible to push this tremendous mass of a planet out of the way with mere nuclear bombs.

This same planet brought Atlantis to an end. Before Atlantis existed, it annihilated the existence of another continent. We know very well that the continent of Mu or Lemuria sank within the waters of the boisterous Pacific Ocean after 10,000 years of earthquakes and incessant volcanic eruptions.

When Hercolubus passed at an angle through our solar system during the end of the Kali Yuga of the Atlantean continent, then the universal flood occurred causing displacement of all the seabeds. It was the end of Atlantis.

Easter Island, off the coast of Chile, and Australia are remnants of the Lemurian continent. The Caribbean Islands are remnants of Atlantis.

When Hercolubus once again passes through an angle of our solar system, you can be absolutely sure that another great catastrophe will occur. This indicates that the destruction that is approaching is not the first, nor will it be the last.

While Weor's claims will no doubt sound rather fantastical to most of my readers -- gullible, naive New Agers aside -- the problem is that back during that period in the 1970's, there was certain misguided astronomical evidence which seemed to support his claims.

Barnard's Star

Let me begin by sharing some information regarding Barnard's Star. This information was garnered from different pages on the Wikipedia website, as well as from a few other astronomy and science-related websites.


Barnard's Star is a very low-mass, class M4, red dwarf star that is located almost six light-years -- or over thirty-five trillion miles -- from our planet in the constellation of Ophiuchus, or the Snake-holder, as it is commonly known. It is the fourth-closest known individual star to our Sun, after the three components of the Alpha Centauri star system.

Project Daedalus

Due to its relative closeness to the Earth, as well as the belief at that time that it might possibly host a number of planets, Barnard's Star was considered as a potential target for an unmanned interstellar spacecraft, which was going to be designed by the British Interplanetary Society's Project Daedalus study during the 1970's. According to the design study, the spacecraft was expected to reach Barnard's Star in forty-seven to fifty years, after achieving a speed over several years of twelve per cent the speed of light. I was unable to find information concerning exactly what happened to the Daedalus Project. As far as I know, the spacecraft was never built, but I cannot confirm this one way or the other.

Red Dwarf Stars

Concerning red dwarf stars, typically, such stars have a mass which is forty per cent, or less, of our own Sun. As a result of the relatively low temperatures in their cores, as well as the fact that energy is generated at a slow rate, red dwarfs emit very little light. In fact, the luminosity of even the largest red dwarfs is only about ten per cent that of our own Sun. In short, in astronomical terms, red dwarfs are small, cool, dim stars. Because of this, no red dwarfs are visible to the naked eye from the Earth. Astronomers believe that red dwarfs constitute the vast majority of the stars in our own Milky Way galaxy. Regarding Barnard's Star, it has an apparent magnitude -- which is a measure of its brightness as seen by an observer on Earth, normalized to the value it would have in the absence of the atmosphere -- of approximately 9.54; so again, it is not visible to the unaided eye.

Peter van de Kamp's Theory

As I mentioned a moment ago, it was previously believed that Barnard's Star might possibly host one or more planets. This theory was particularly popular from about 1963 to 1973, and resulted from Dutch astronomer Peter van de Kamp -- who was the director of the Sproul Observatory at Swarthmore College -- announcing that he had discovered a periodic wobble in the motion of Barnard's Star. He attributed this stellar wobble to the presence of one or more gas giant planets. Since that time, Mr. van de Kamp's assertions have been refuted, and attributed to human error; even though up until the time of his death in 1995, van de Kamp himself never admitted to any such error.

Barnard's Star Poses No Threat to Earth

Be that as it may, it is plausible to assume that certain New Age gurus -- such as Weor and Rabolu -- latched on to van de Kamp's erroneous information, and began to disseminate their false belief that Barnard's Star -- which they equated with the mythical planet Hercolubus -- was on a crash course with the Earth. According to the information I uncovered, while it is indeed true that Barnard's Star is slowly approaching our Solar System -- it is referred to as the "Runaway Star" -- it will not make its closest approach to the Sun until about the year 11,700 AD; so why the current hype? Why all of this New Age sensationalism and nonsense?

To set the record straight, at that distant time in 11,700 AD, Barnard's Star will be within about 3.8 light years of our Sun. To put this figure into perspective, this distance is only slightly closer than our closest stellar neighbor at this current time; that is, Proxima Centauri. In short, based upon this information, Barnard's Star poses no threat to our planet; not now, or ever.

Strange Beliefs of Samael Aun Weor

If there is one thing I can tell you, it is that Samael Aun Weor was a seriously misguided loose cannon who twisted the Scriptures to his own convenience. For example, in one part of his 1976 lecture, he claims that God created people as hermaphrodites. In other words, Adam and Eve -- who Weor appears to believe were Lemurians -- had both sexual organs in their bodies, and were thus able to procreate without engaging in sex. Consider this wild quote from his lecture:

The Lemurians were gigantic hermaphrodites. We can see their representation in those sculptures which are in Tula, Mexico. The Lemurians were oviparous.

The Children of the Second Sun reproduced themselves by budding, but the Children of the Third Sun reproduced themselves in an oviparous way. It is clear that the hermaphroditic body of Lemurians ovulated, and that the ovum that escaped from their ovaries was already fecundated.

The Lemurians were male-female (hermaphrodites), as the Bible states:

In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and Female created he them, and blessed them and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. -Genesis 5:1-2

Therefore, it is stated that within a determined period the egg within the womb of the hermaphroditic Lemurian body was open and a child was born from it. This child was then nourished from the breasts of the father-mother.

I can only assume that Weor derives his misguided belief in the Original Pair being hermaphrodites from the phrase "male and female created he them"; but that is not what the verses are saying by any means. Mr. Weor's problem was a problem of perspective. Those verses are first addressing Adam as being created male -- thus the phrase "made he him" -- and likewise then stating that the Original Pair consisted of one male and one female; and thus the phrase "male and female created he them". In short, first we have a "him", followed by a "them".

Weor's New Age doctrines are filled with all kinds of weird ideas, such as the above. For example, he also believed that a race of miniature people -- similar to the Lilliputians -- existed in Bolivia, South America. Consider this quote that is taken from the very same lecture:

The Nahuas stated that the Lemurians converted themselves into birds. I can tell you as a testimony of this that in Bolivia, South America, people discovered a small race of what we would call Lilliputians.

These Lilliputians were only 10 or 20 centimeters in stature, tiny men and women who inhabited a small town. This town resembled a toy town. These tiny beings disappeared one night by placing themselves into the fourth dimension and transporting themselves to another, safer place. They had to escape, as they were afraid of becoming a public "freak" show.

Many people were trying to get into the place in order to see these tiny beings before their escape, but now only the tiny town remains very well guarded by the natives of that area. Thus, this is how we understand that it is very true that the Children of the Third Sun were converted into birds.

Samael Aun Weor was familiar with the Bible, and he knew how to quote from the Scriptures, but many of his interpretations were really out in left field. This is precisely what makes some of these false prophets and deceivers so dangerous. In other words, a lot of naive, gullible people assume that just because a person can quote verses from the Bible, they must know what they are talking about, and they must be telling the truth. My friends, be warned! It just isn't necessarily so.

Furthermore, Samael Aun Weor's concept of Salvation through Jesus Christ is by no means the same as what most Christians believe. Similar to many other New Age adherents, he embraced a kind of christ consciousness type of belief system, which is popular with so many misguided people today, including, I might add, Oprah Winfrey.

While some of this information may seem silly and boring to some of you, the reason why I am sharing it with you, is so that you can recognize the dangerous doctrinal poison that is being foisted upon an ignorant public by these deceivers and false prophets. But the real tragedy is when people who claim to be Christian preachers and teachers, rely upon this very same nonsense, as a means to supposedly validate their own claims regarding Christ's Return. I must wonder if Scott McAllister even understands what he is really promoting when he uses an image with the name Hercolubus on it. Does he know the origin of this name?

Nancy Lieder, Zeta Reticuli and Planet X

In light of the previous information concerning the alleged planet Hercolubus, should it really come as a surprise to us that misguided and self-proclaimed alien contactee, Nancy Lieder, would then attempt to use Weor's and Rabolu's ideas to legitimize her own claims regarding the soon arrival of the so-called Planet X? Now, let's be honest here. Anyone who makes the preposterous claim that they are in telepathic communication with gray aliens from the Zeta Reticuli binary star system -- by means of a brain implant no less -- really needs to have their head examined, literally. If you are not familiar with the so-called gray aliens of Zeta Reticuli, I encourage you to consider reading some of my other articles which address the topic of aliens and UFOs.

Planet X, Hercolubus and Nibiru Morph into One

At this point in our discussion, it is important to point out that over the years, it seems that what were originally seen as being separate issues -- that is, Planet X, Hercolubus and Nibiru -- have somehow morphed into one and the same object. In other words, when New Age adherents, alien and UFO buffs, and conspiracy theorists use one of these names, they appear to be talking about the very same thing; that is, a large, red planet -- either real or artificially fabricated -- which is allegedly home to an ancient race of giants who are known as the Anunnaki.

As I briefly stated in part one, the general belief is that when this planet -- which is also referred to as Marduk -- makes its next pass near the Earth on its 3,600 year orbit, it will bring great destruction to our planet; a catastrophe which national governments and astronomers are supposedly keeping hidden from us, in order to avoid panic.

Zecharia Sitchin Rejects Leider Claims

Not everyone has agreed to this forced amalgamation of terms. In fact, Zecharia Sitchin -- who viewed himself as a serious archeologist and scholar -- was quite opposed to the idea of Nancy Leider's Zeta Reticuli fantasies being associated with his work. Of course, it must also be noted that no serious scholar has ever embraced Sitchin's claims of an ancient race of alien astronauts from the planet Nibiru, or Marduk, who the ancient Sumerians referred to as the Anunnaki. Partially as a means of distancing his own beliefs from those of Nancy Leider, in 2007, just a few years before his death, Zecharia Sitchin published a book called "The End of Days: Armageddon and Prophecies of the Return", in which he established the date for Nibiru's last Earth passage as being in 556 BC.

"End of Days": Nibiru Won't Return Until 2900 AD

On page 296 of his "The End of Days" book, Sitchin clearly says "Either way, the next arrival of Nibiru is way in the distant future." Sitchin then proceeds to clarify what he means on pages 297-298, where he writes the following:

One of the great mysteries in our solar system is the fact that the planet Uranus literally lies on its side -- its north-south axis faces the Sun horizontally instead of being vertical to it. "Something" gave Uranus a "big whack" sometime in its past, NASA's scientists said -- without venturing to guess what the "something" was. I have often wondered whether that "something" was also what caused the huge mysterious "chevron" scar and an unexplained "ploughed" feature that NASA's Voyager 2 found on Uranus's moon Miranda in 1986 (Fig. 128) -- a moon that is different in numerous ways from the other moons of Uranus. Could a celestial collision with a passing Nibiru and its moons cause all that?

In recent years astronomers have ascertained that the outer large planets have not stayed put where they were formed, but have been drifting outward, away from the Sun. The studies concluded that the shift has been most pronounced in the case of Uranus and Neptune (see sketch, Fig. 129), and that can explain why nothing happened out there for many Nibiru orbits -- then suddenly something did. It is not implausible to assume that on its "Deluge" orbit Nibiru encountered the drifting Uranus, and one of Nibiru's moons struck Uranus, tilting it on its side; it could even be that the strike "weapon" was the enigmatic moon Miranda -- a moon of Nibiru -- striking Uranus and ending up captured to orbit Uranus. Such an occurrence would have affected the orbit of Nibiru, slowing it down to about 3450 Earth-years rather than 3600, and resulting in a post-Diluvial reappearance schedule of circa 7450, circa 4000, and circa 550 b.c.e.

If that is what had happened, it would explain the "early" arrival of Nibiru in 556 b.c.e. -- and suggest that its next arrival will be circa a.d. 2900. For those who associate the prophesied cataclysmic events with the return of Nibiru -- "Planet X" to some -- the time is not at hand.

Clearly then, even if the planet Nibiru really does exist -- which I doubt -- according to Sitchin, it won't be zeroing in again on our particular region of Space until about the year 2900 AD. Obviously, this totally invalidates the claim which was made by Nancy Leider and other New Age adherents a few years ago, in which they stated that Nibiru was -- or still is -- fast approaching the Earth. It also negates the claims which Scott McAllister has made in his "Comet Elenin Nibiru Planet X and the Day of the LORD" video.

Nancy Lieder's Planet X Folly

In case you are not familiar with the story, it seems that as with so many other online false prophets, misguided gurus and deceptive peddlers of psychobabble we have seen in recent decades, Nancy Lieder made the foolish mistake of embracing a specific date for the arrival of Nibiru -- or Planet X if you prefer -- that being March 2003. When that date came and went and nothing happened, and Planet Earth was left intact, well, you know the story. It seems that these deceivers always find a way to justify their mistakes; at least in their own eyes.

In Nancy's case, she blamed it on her gray alien friends. She claimed that those little tricksters had purposely given her false information, which she now refers to as the "White Lie". Why, of course they did! Shame on those Zeta Reticulans! Oh, excuse my sarcasm. Needless-to-say, the number of people who continue to follow Nancy's gray alien lunacies has diminished in recent years.
