A Word From the author:
The following series concerning Comet Elenin was actually begun on September 16, 2011. In order to retain a high level of relevance, it was my intention to complete it and release it prior to Comet Elenin's closest orbital approach to the Earth, which actually occurred on October 16, 2011. However, due to other important writing projects which I wanted to complete and release at that particular time, the publication of this series was delayed. Time passed, and I worked on even more projects, which pushed this series even further back on the shelf.
Well, here it is a year and eight months later, and I am finally getting this series out the door. While some of the astronomical information which is contained in this series is now outdated, being as Comet Elenin passed by the Earth so long ago, nevertheless, I decided to complete this series anyway, and release it, because it contains some important lessons which some people need to read, and take heed to; particularly other Christians who either promote this kind of nonsense themselves, or else who become deceived by the same.

Astronomical Facts Regarding Comet Elenin
Within the global astronomical community, it is known by the scientific name of Comet C/2010 X1. However, most people will recognize it by the popular name of Comet Elenin. Discovered by Russian amateur astronomer Leonid Elenin on December 10, 2010, this long-period comet, which according to astronomers has a heliocentric orbital period of 600,000 years, possessed a nucleus which was approximately three to four kilometers in diameter. However, as it approached the Sun, its coma -- or outer dust shell -- grew to eventually cover a region of space several hundred kilometers in diameter. Despite this fact, it was too faint to be see with the naked eye, and remained so, even during its closest approach to the Earth, which occurred on October 16, 2011. I will share more about this point in a moment.
Comet Elenin made its closest approach to the Sun -- which is referred to as its perihelion -- on September 10, 2011 at a distance of 0.4824 AU. This was about 72,170,000 kilometers, or 44,840,000 miles. At its closest approach to the Earth on October 16, 2011, it was 0.2338 AU -- or about 34,980,000 kilometers / 21,730,000 miles from our planet. This distance placed Comet Elenin slightly closer to us than the planet Venus. At that time, Comet Elenin sped through the depths of Space at an amazing 86,000 kilometers per hour.
As a result of being bombarded by a CME -- or Coronal Mass Ejection -- emanating from the Sun on August 19, 2011, along with another comet named C/1999 S4, Comet Elenin began to disintegrate. In fact, if you visit the following web page, and scroll down a little bit from the top to August 19, 2011, you will see how Comet Elenin began to lose its steam -- as well as its brightness -- following its encounter with the Coronal Mass Ejection on that date. Please be advised that depending upon when you read this series, the images at the following URL may possibly no longer be at your disposal. As of today -- May 15, 2013 -- they are still available there:
http://www.aerith.net/comet/catalog/2010X1/pictures.html
The rate of disintegration of Comet Elenin was such, that by the beginning of November 2011, not only was the comet not visible to the naked eye, but neither was it observable by any of the large ground-based telescopes, such as Hawaii's two-meter Faulkes Telescope North. In short, Comet Elenin totally wimped out when it encountered the powerful forces of the solar orb, and became a no-show.
What I have just shared with you are some of the scientific facts regarding Comet Elenin, as dry and as boring as they may seem to some of you. However, as many of you will know, in the wild online world of rumors and conspiracy theories, real world facts are often ignored, and even overshadowed by more exciting personal conjectures and speculations which, while they may possibly include small amounts of accurate scientific information, are more often than not usually quite divorced from reality.
Harold Camping and 2012 Mayan Long Calendar Madness
It shouldn't surprise you to know then that dire prophecies and predictions concerning the arrival of Comet Elenin was just one of so many crazy conspiracy theories which are so often propagated on the World Wide Web by misguided people who don't have a clue regarding what they are talking about. It came on the heels of other online madness, such as Harold Camping's wayward predictions regarding the supposed Return of Jesus Christ and the end of the world. I amply discuss Camping's predictions in the three-part series entitled "The Misguided End of the World Predictions of Harold Camping".
Other recent online madness included the heavily promoted Mayan long calendar and 2012 hype which, incidentally, made a number of book authors and movie directors a lot of money. For my personal views regarding the Mayan calendar and 2012 nonsense, please refer to my series entitled "2012: New Age Deception and Psychobabble", as well as other articles and series which I will list at the end of this current series.
While I was vaguely aware of the Comet Elenin "predictions", and knew that I should investigate the subject further, and then share my own findings with my readers, I intentionally put off doing so, because I was relatively confident that I knew exactly what I would discover once I did begin to delve into the matter. Well, in retrospect, sadly, I wasn't wrong, and it became necessary for me to expose more of this online madness and deception which is polluting the minds of a lot of people, both Christian and non-Christian alike.
Christ's Return and Jewish Feast Days
I finally dove into the Comet Elenin hype early in September of 2011. Sadly, what motivated me to do so was the fact that even some Christians had begun to promote the Comet Elenin craze, and were bending over backwards to try to link it to the Return of Jesus Christ, which they were convinced was going to occur during the Fall season of that same year; that is, 2011. Without going into a lot of detail here, one of the reasons for this belief amongst a number of Christians, is because they believe that Christ's Return is directly tied to -- and in fact prophesied by -- a number of Jewish feast days which occur in the Jewish month of Tishri. Tishri -- which is a Babylonian name -- lasts from September to October on the Gregorian Calendar. These feasts include the following:
1. Feast of Trumpets -- Also known as Rosh Hashanah. The Jewish New Year which is celebrated on the 1st and 2nd days of the Jewish month of Tishri.
2. Day of Atonement -- Also known as Yom Kippur. Occurs on the 10th day of the Jewish month of Tishri. It is considered the holiest and most solemn day of the Jewish year, and is marked by atonement and repentance.
3. Feast of Tabernacles -- Also known as Succoth, Sukkot or Sukkoth. A seven-day feast which occurs on the 15th to the 21st days of the Jewish month of Tishri.
If you would like to learn a little more about these various Jewish feasts, please consider reading my three-part series entitled "The Lamb of God Was a Goat". The tragedy here isn't that these Christians are trying to link Christ's Return to certain Jewish feast days -- because it is possible that they are correct in doing so -- but rather in the fact that they are trying to force God's Word to say what they have chosen to believe, and are bending over backwards by even trying to link Christ's Return to Comet Elenin; a Comet which has now fizzled out and been a no-show.
Equally alarming to me at least, is the fact that some of these people are making some very time-specific predictions, which is a very dangerous practice to engage in. In my view, doing this really amounts to credibility suicide, as I also explain in my series concerning Harold Camping. Furthermore, the Jewish month of Tishri in 2011 came and went, and it is more than evident that Jesus Christ did not return, as per their erroneous, misguided predictions.
On a related note, as I explain in the twelve-part series entitled "Elijah: Where Are the True Prophets of God", sadly, these erroneous predictions by well known American Christian leaders has continued up to our present time. For example, Pastor Ronald Weinland of the Church of God, PKG in the state of Ohio, USA predicted that Christ would return on the Feast of Pentecost on May 27, 2012. When that failed to materialize, he moved up the date to the Feast of Pentecost which falls on May 19th of our current year. That is only five days away, and I for one have no expectations. Meanwhile, Weinland currently sits in a prison cell serving out a sentence for tax evasion.
Another wayward Christian leader who has embarrassed himself recently is noted televangelist Jack Van Impe. He predicted that the Rapture would occur in 2012, and that Christ would return seven years later in 2019. OOPS . . . sorry Impe, but there was no Rapture. You will find more false predictions regarding Jesus Christ's Return in the aforementioned series.
"Comet Elenin Nibiru Planet X & The Day of The LORD" Video
To continue, while it is not normally my habit to watch such things, during early September of 2011 I downloaded a YouTube video called "Comet Elenin Nibiru Planet X & The Day of The LORD". This video was apparently made by a ministry called "Seven Theory Ministries", which appears to be headed by an individual named Scott McAllister. Wanting to give it a fair chance, I watched the video in its entirety. In the video, Scott goes to great length to add a Christian and Scriptural bent to the predictions surrounding Comet Elenin, exactly as I described a moment ago. It is really shameful.
For those of you who may choose to download the video -- that is, if it is even still available -- I advise you to ask the Lord to grant you a good dose of Spiritual Discernment, and to watch any such presentations with a great deal of caution, lest you become deceived, as Scott seems to be. If you doubt that this is the case, then consider that near the beginning of presentation, Scott foolishly states "This is probably the most significant, most important prophetic teachings I've ever done; and so I think by the time you see all what's entailed in this, you may feel the same way." Those are his exact words in the video.
Well, I'm sorry to report that after watching Scott's video, I definitely do not feel the same way as he does at all. In fact, in my view, the way that Scott grabs information from so many questionable and untrustworthy sources, and tries to make it fit Bible prophecy, is downright dangerous. What is so ironic about this, is that as he begins his presentation, he mentions the necessity of cutting through all of the false information that can be found on the Internet, and then turns around and relies upon some of that very information in order to present his case. Consider some of the sources that are used in this deceptive video:
Hollywood Movies and "Deep Impact"
Scott claims that powers of the occult control Hollywood, and that they use natural catastrophe movies to foretell actual future catastrophes on the Earth; not because they really care about people, but rather to gloat about their evil nature. Scott says "We tell the people what we are going to do to them before time, knowing that they are helpless to stop it. That's part of their religion."
As a Christian, I have no doubt that a lot of dark spiritual forces influence what is produced in Hollywood; and I do view Hollywood as a den of iniquity. Furthermore, I don't need to be convinced of the fact that a very liberal spirit pervades that place; and that many movies are produced which clearly display animosity towards our Christian faith; or else they purposely and falsely represent our faith by focusing on the extreme elements of our faith in order to make all Christians look bad, or at least appear ignorant and foolish. I have even made some graphics regarding this topic for my Facebook timeline, as some of you will already know. I in fact refer to Hollywood as "unHolywood".
But my point is, I think that Scott is rather misguided here. For example, in the 1998 movie "Deep Impact", the video makes a point that the president is Black, just like Barack Obama. The implication is that this supposedly proves that the movie contains secret messages for those who have ears to hear. The video also points out that the spaceship in "Deep Impact" is called the "Messiah". Again, the not-so-subtle message that the video creator is trying to get across, seems to be that this is more proof that Christ will return during Elenin's passage by the Earth. In fact, in his video, Scott makes the Messiah line repeat several times in a row in order to drive the point home.
Supposedly, some of the Hollywood movie excerpts that Scott shares in his video contain hidden messages concerning the coming destruction which was supposed to result from Comet Elenin's passage. For example, one reporter in "Deep Impact" learns that the name Ellie really isn't a reference to the president's lover, rather, it really means ELE, which stands for "Extinction Level Event". Conspiracy theorists such as Scott erroneously conclude that it is a future reference to Comet Elenin.
So please tell me; since when does God -- the great Creator of the Universe -- have to rely upon movies coming out of ungodly, antichrist Hollywood, in order to inform and warn His children of things which are yet to come? Isn't that what the Bible and true Prophets of God are supposed to be for? If we have to rely upon Hollywood in order to discover Biblical truth, we are seriously in trouble. I will return to this issue later on in this series.
Hopi and Zuni Endtime Prophecies
Within the Hopi and Zuni belief system, there is a legend or prophecy regarding the Red Kachina and the Blue Kachina. Upon conducting some online research, I learned that kachinas are spirit beings, or gods, in the Pueblo culture, which includes both the Hopi and the Zuni Native American tribes. According to the prophecies, these two spirit beings are supposed to physically manifest themselves as a Red Star and a Blue Star. The appearance of Comet Hale-Bopp in early 1997 -- which the Hopi tribe refers to as "the twins" due to its double tail -- was supposed to have initiated a seven-year period of "final opportunity to change our ways" before the arrival of the Red Kachina.
The Red Kachina -- who is called the Purifier, and who was prophesied to bring the Day of Purification -- was to appear seven years after Comet Hale-Bopp made its appearance in 1997. The arrival of the Red Kachina -- which should have occurred in 2004 according to the times given in the prophecy -- was to have marked the beginning of a seven-year period of great upheaval, suffering and change on the Earth. I imagine that this can be compared to the Christian concept of a seven-year Great Tribulation period, as opposed to those who embrace a three and a half year Great Tribulation period.
The Blue Star Kachina -- who is also called "Saquasohuh" or "Nan Ga Sohu" -- on the other hand, is said to be benevolent. It was supposed to arrive in order to usher in "the forever cycle of the Fifth World". From my research, I was left a little confused regarding whether the Blue Star Kachina was supposed to arrive at the same time as the Red Star Kachina, or perhaps some time after it; not that it really matters at this point in time. Here is why I say this:
According to my understanding, all of these events regarding the Hopi prophecies were supposed to have concluded nine years ago in 2004. Obviously, none of it has happened. We can only conclude then that it is a failed, false prophecy. That being the case, why would any Christian endeavor to connect Christ's Return to it? Furthermore, since when does God have to rely upon Native American false prophecies to inform and warn His children of coming prophetic events?
Sadly, that is exactly what Scott McAllister does. He claims that because Comet Elenin is partially comprised of hydrogen cyanide, it may turn blue, and thus fulfill the Hopi prophecy regarding the Blue Star Kachina. At the video's one-hour mark, Scott clearly says "Comet Elenin; I think might be that Blue Kachina star . . . It's gonna light up like a lightbulb, and it's gonna be a blue lightbulb . . . It will look as bright as a second Sun." So not only does Scott appear to want to believe that the Hopi prophecy is actually true, but he wants his viewers to accept it too. Well, we know how that turned out. Elenin not only did not turn blue, but it fizzled out so that it wasn't even visible to the naked eye. As bright as a second Sun? Sorry Scott, but you failed miserably.
In case you are wondering how Scott justified embracing a pagan belief system such as the Hopi legend, in his video he explains that both Satan and evil spirits know the future, and can reveal it to their human followers. While what Scott says regarding Satan and evil spirits knowing the future may possibly be true -- I believe that there is some evidence in the Scriptures to support this particular belief -- I still have a serious problem with his overall position. Let me tell you why this is so.
Scott states "So a false religion's prophecy, even though the religion is false, doesn't necessarily mean that the prophecy should be ignored." I find that claim a bit troubling. If we know that a religion is false, how can we possibly have the confidence that its prophecies are true, and not just one of Satan's deceptions? Isn't Scott's attitude in fact a foolish invitation to personal deception? Furthermore, his position clearly contradicts verses such as the following, which warn us to flee from the works of darkness. They don't advise us to embrace them, accept them, and much less believe them, or ask others to believe them as well:
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Isaiah 5:20, KJV
"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light."
Romans 13:12, KJV
"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
Ephesians 5:11, KJV
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
2 Corinthians 6:14, KJV
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
2 Corinthians 11:13-15, KJV
2012 and Mayan Long Calendar
Many of you reading this will already be familiar with the Mayan long calendar and the December 21, 2012 psychobabble. Please refer to my three-part series entitled "2012: New Age Deception And Psychobabble" for my personal views concerning this topic. Well, it seems that Scott McAllister didn't want to wait until December 21, 2012, so he had to find a way to make the Mayan calendar fit into his own personal theology, which dictates that everything has to end in the Jewish month of Tishri 2011, during the aforementioned Jewish feasts, and not fourteen months later in 2012 as many people were led to believe. Thanks to an individual named Carl Johan Calleman, Scott was not disappointed.
In the video, Scott claims that Mr. Calleman is a world renown expert when it comes to the Mayan calendar, which he has been studying for twenty years. According to Calleman, December 21, 2012 was a fictitious date which was invented by the Illuminati in order to confuse people and conceal the truth from them. He claims that the actual date was really October 28, 2011 because the Universal 9th Wave -- which is supposedly the final step in the nine underworlds or cycles of Mayan awakening -- began on March 9, 2011, and would end on October 28, 2011. How very convenient this is for Scott McAllister. Sadly, I am reminded of these verses:
"I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not."
Isaiah 66:4, KJV
". . . because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
2 Thessalonians 2:10b-11, KJV
Unless I've already passed on over to the Other Side without realizing it, or am caught up in some kind of a dream state that is so real that I cannot differentiate it from reality, October 28, 2011 came and went, and I am currently positioned here in front of my computer typing out this series. Excuse my sarcasm, but I feel that it is justified in this case. In case you are not aware of it, even the Prophet Elijah seemed to yield to sarcasm and ridicule at times; as we can see by his response to the four hundred and fifty false prophets of Baal in the following verse:
"And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked."
1 Kings 18:27, KJV
I hope that you can perceive the foolishness of endeavoring to associate 2012 and the Mayan long calendar nonsense with the Return of Jesus Christ, and weren't deceived by the same, as some people apparently were. At any rate, what we see here is that one false prophet -- Scott McAllister -- relied upon another false prophet -- Calleman -- to bolster his own false predictions, and they both ended up falling into the ditch, as in this verse:
"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."
Matthew 15:14, KJV
Nancy Lieder, Zecharia Sitchin and Nibiru
If you spend a lot of time online surfing the web, and if you have an interest in the topic of aliens and UFOs, then you are probably already familiar with all of the hype which has surrounded alleged alien contactee Nancy Lieder's "ZetaTalk" website absurdities concerning Planet X. I will be discussing Lieder's folly more at length in the second part of this same series.
You are more than likely also familiar to some degree with the controversial writings of now-deceased maverick author and researcher Zecharia Sitchin, and his firm belief in the existence of a giant, red planet, which he claimed was known to both the ancient Babylonians and the Sumerians as Nibiru, or Marduk. Sitchin widely promoted the belief in an advanced alien race from Nibiru, based on his interpretation of some ancient clay tablets which discuss the ancient gods who were referred to as the Anunnaki.
On a side note, it does appear that the false god Marduk is mentioned at least one time in the Old Testament of the King James Version of the Bible. However, it is spelled slightly different; that is, as "Merodach". In fact, one of the sons and successors of Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar appears to have been named in honor of this false god. This king, whose name was Evilmerodach, in fact freed Jewish king Jehoiachin from prison. As I point out in other articles, Jehoiachin had been taken prisoner to Babylon decades earlier by King Nebuchadnezzar; as we see here:
"Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces."
Jeremiah 50:2, KJV
"And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;"
2 Kings 25:27, KJV
"And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,"
Jeremiah 52:31, KJV
Scott Claims Nibiru is Red Star Kachina
If you are not familiar with Zecharia Sitchin and the Nibiru and Anunnaki controversy, please refer to my four-part series entitled "The Nibiru, Planet X, Wormwood Controversy". At any rate, having declared that Comet Elenin might possibly be the Blue Star Kachina, in order to cement his misguided beliefs, and convince his audience of the same, Scott obviously needed a celestial object to represent the Red Star Kachina as well. As it turns out, once again, New Age nonsense met his needs.
According to the video, Scott appears to believe that Nibiru may in fact be the Red Star Kachina, and that the governments and astronomers of the world are trying to conceal Nibiru's approach. In other words, in typical Hollywood fashion, the entire global community of astronomers and governments have gotten together in a grand conspiracy to keep the truth from us until it is too late. Of course, the usual reasoning that is offered to explain this, is that if such knowledge were to become public, it would result in chaos and panic. Thus, governments and scientists choose instead to purposely keep us in the dark until our sudden and unexpected demise. As one continues to watch the video, it becomes apparent that Scott apparently embraces this unfounded conspiracy theory.
